Birds and paddling

Mid-August Paddling

Wading Birds & Boats!
The height of shore bird migration is around the corner! WPWA will provide boats, equipment and guides for this Little Narragansett Bay experience. Laura Carberry, of the Audubon Society of RI, will point out types of birds and places they hang out. Our small group will leisurely paddle along the shoreline for about 1.5 hours. Timed for the tide and the birds, join us!

 Sunset & Moonrise Paddle!
Just before sunset this August, the moon will rise over the trees on Frying Pan Pond. What a sight!
Join WPWA on this delightful late summer evening paddle heading upstream on the Wood River from the WPWA campus. Because of the time of night, we may even see swimming and tail slapping beavers!
This is Great Outdoors Pursuit event by WPWA with support from RI Department of Environmental Management.
