How Charlestown measures up for affordable housing

Here is the Charlestown page from the HousingWorksRI 2019 Fact Book, released today.

To put these statistics in context, you should download and read the entire report (CLICK HERE).

Charlestown ranks in the bottom half for affordable, single family homes, but is much lower in the standings when it comes to affordable rental units.

Charlestown's median annual income of $72,648 is a lot higher than the state's median of $61,043.

However, it's far short of the $105,670 annual income you need to be able to afford to own your own home in Charlestown.
