Join in August 20 virtual volunteer event for Sara Gideon
By Will Collette
One of the most important goals for November 3 is for
Democrats to take back the US Senate from Moscow Mitch McConnell.
Every US Senate seat on the ballot on November 3 will be important,
and that includes making sure we re-elect Jack Reed here in Rhode Island. But
the most important battle in New England will take place in Maine where
incumbent Senator Susan Collins (R) faces her strongest challenge ever from
Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives Sara Gideon (D).
Gideon is a Rhode Island native from East Greenwich, though
a Mainer through and through. She is leading Collins in the polls, due to a
strong campaign as well as Collins’ repeated betrayal of Maine voters in her
votes for Trump’s Supreme Court picks and against Trump’s impeachment.
Next Thursday, August 20 at 5 PM, RI for Sara Gideon will host
a virtual volunteer event – all on line when you sign up at https://forms.gle/bDHuGqHan6E85yHz7.
You will be sent a link to participate.
You’ll be greeted by RI State Treasurer Seth Magaziner and
receive an orientation on how to use the Gideon campaign’s phone bank software
from a member of the Gideon campaign team. Then you will make some actual calls
to Maine voters urging them to vote for Sara Gideon for Senate on November 3.
You can learn more about her at her campaign website HERE,
including her detailed positions on the key issues we all face.
I like Sara Gideon and want to see her elected. That’s why I’ve
already contributed to her campaign. I urge you to do what you can to help her help to end Mitch McConnell's stranglehold on the American people.
