Isaias storm track keeps shifting to the west

According to the National Hurricane Service, the predicted track for Tropical Storm Isaias continues to shift to the west. Technically, Charlestown is still under a Tropical Storm Watch but the shift, if it holds or continues, means diminished effects for the Rhode Island south coast.

If we remain on the eastern side of the storm, we won't see as much rain as places on the western side, but will see wind. The rain forecast for Charlestown is for up to 2 inches.

Current advisories from the Weather Service forecast a roughly 6-hour period during early evening tomorrow where we will see most of the wind and rain. Winds may gust up to 40-60 mph and could knock down trees and cut power. Bugs and bad weather have left us with lots of dead and weak trees. Healthy trees are fully loaded with leaves, making them vulnerable to high wind.

There may be some coastal flooding at high tide, plus rough surf and potential rip currents.
