Planned Parenthood wants you to stay healthy this winter.

Planned Parenthood of Southern New England

Dear friends,

The flu season is here — and one of the best ways to keep yourself and others healthy is to get your flu shot. The flu shot is an effective and safe vaccination against the seasonal flu. And, you can get a flu shot at your local Planned Parenthood health center today!

Like COVID-19, the seasonal flu is an upper respiratory illness, and trust us — you don’t want to risk catching both at the same time. During the pandemic, everyone over the age of six months should get a flu shot (unless you’re allergic, then talk to your provider).

We’re here for you! Schedule an appointment at your nearest Planned Parenthood health center or ask your provider about adding a flu shot at your visit this month. The flu shot is covered by most insurance plans or available at a low cost if you’re paying out of pocket.

We all must do our part to stay safe and healthy this year. I’ve got you covered—just follow these 5 tips during flu season:

DR. NICOLE'S 5 TIPS FOR A HEALTHY FLU SEASON

  1. Always wear your mask when you’re not around people you live with
  2. Maintain 6 feet of distance from others, and avoid contact with anyone who’s sick
  3. Wash your hands frequently (remember: for 20 seconds of scrubbing, sing the birthday song!)
  4. Don’t touch your face with unwashed hands
  5. Disinfect high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, tables, keyboards, your phone) often

And remember, don’t delay your care. You can make an appointment at one of our health centers or schedule a virtual telehealth visit to connect to your Planned Parenthood provider wherever you are!

Stay healthy,
