Hunger & Housing
Join us for a Virtual Town Hall as Food Bank CEO Andrew Schiff and
HousingWorks RI Director Brenda Clement discuss the impact of COVID-19
on hunger and housing. As the economic downturn continues and we head
into the winter months, we face the combined challenges of a shortage
of affordable housing, mass evictions and an increased demand for food
assistance. Hear how both organizations are addressing these issues.

Giving Stocks to the Food Bank
We know this year looks different in so many ways, but it is still the
time of year when you might be thinking about a year end gift and
exploring your tax planning. A gift of appreciated securities to
the Food Bank may be a tax savvy way for you to help those in need in
our community.
When you donate appreciated securities or mutual funds, you can reduce
or even eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the transfer. You may
also be entitled to a federal income tax charitable deduction based on
the fair market value of the securities at the time of the transfer.
