Right whales are critically endangered - there are only
366 left - and the leading cause of death is entanglements. The
Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) has proposed draft
regulations but they don’t include the use of ropeless fishing gear to
address entanglements.
As an advocate for the ocean and its creatures, we need
