Rep. McEntee named chairwoman of House Small Business Committee
Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) has been named as the chairwoman of the House Small Business Committee.
She is also the First
Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, and a member of the House Labor
Committee and the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
“Rhode Island’s small
businesses are desperately in need of help as they continue to grapple with the
effects of COVID-19 and its health and economic fallout. I thank Speaker
Shekarchi and the House of Representatives for their vote of confidence with
this appointment and I know the committee is eager to begin the work toward
recovery for our small businesses so that they may emerge from these trying
times stronger than ever,” said Representative McEntee.
First elected in June of
2015, Representative McEntee is an attorney, licensed in both Rhode Island and
Massachusetts, practicing at McEntee and McEntee in Wakefield and Warwick.
She is a former Special
Assistant Attorney General in Rhode Island and a former assistant city
solicitor and prosecutor for the City of Warwick.
