McEntee moves up

Rep. McEntee named chairwoman of House Small Business Committee

Rep. Carol Hagan McEntee (D-Dist. 33, South Kingstown, Narragansett) has been named as the chairwoman of the House Small Business Committee.

She is also the First Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, and a member of the House Labor Committee and the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

“Rhode Island’s small businesses are desperately in need of help as they continue to grapple with the effects of COVID-19 and its health and economic fallout.  I thank Speaker Shekarchi and the House of Representatives for their vote of confidence with this appointment and I know the committee is eager to begin the work toward recovery for our small businesses so that they may emerge from these trying times stronger than ever,” said Representative McEntee.

First elected in June of 2015, Representative McEntee is an attorney, licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, practicing at McEntee and McEntee in Wakefield and Warwick.

She is a former Special Assistant Attorney General in Rhode Island and a former assistant city solicitor and prosecutor for the City of Warwick.
