The Rhode Island Nature Video Festival, organized by the Environment Council of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Natural history Survey will be held on line on Saturday February 20 at 2 PM.
Videos
were submitted by Rhode Islanders from across the state and a panel of
distinguished judges has selected one hour of videos highlighting Rhode Island
nature.

The
event will be hosted live on the RI Natural History Survey Facebook page and
all of the videos will also be available after the show on the Environment
Council of RI website https://www.environmentcouncilri.org/
An innovation this year is that after the show there will be an opportunity to vote on line for your favorite videos as we award the first People’s Choice awards.
Greg
Gerritt, the administrator for the Environment Council and the nature video
maker behind Moshassuckcritters started the event 6 years ago to see who else
was creating nature videos in Rhode Island.
“I
am really happy the event continues to grow and evolve, and that we are now
partnering with the Rhode Island Natural History Survey. I help collect
the videos from the people submitting them, and everyone is in for a real
treat. From Backyard to Backwoods the videos cover the state, and even
the videos that will not be shown on Saturday but will be available on the
Environment Council website after the show are well worth watching. “
