Scab-free breakfast: support striking Kellogg workers

Members of the IUF-affiliated Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCTGM), who work at The Kellogg Company, voted overwhelmingly this month to reject the company’s latest offer and to continue to strike.

  • The strike initially started on October 5, 2021 in response to demands for major bargaining concessions from the company. One of the key sticking points in negotiations is Kellogg’s insistence on changing an existing two-tier arrangement, which would result in newer workers at the plants earning less pay and fewer benefits
  • Solidarity and support for BCTGM members on strike at Kellogg’s has poured in from unions, politicians and consumers; learn more here, including how you can support:
  • #KelloggStrike can be used when posting solidarity support messages on social media

In response to the vote, BCTGM International President Anthony Shelton commented, “The members have spoken. The strike continues. The International Union will continue to provide full support to our striking Kellogg’s members…The BCTGM is grateful for the outpouring of fraternal support we received from across the labor movement for our striking members at Kellogg’s. Solidarity is critical to this fight.”
