Others hail Alexander-Smith hailed for her service to Rhode Island

On January 13, Dr. Nicole Alexander-Smith submitted her unexpected resignation as the state’s Health Director. Most observers across the political spectrum felt she had done a great job despite resistance and hesitation from our accidental Gov. Dan McKee who generally seems to believe you can make the pandemic go away by closing your eyes real tight.
The disagreement between Alexander-Smith and McKee over
whether public health was more important than small business was barely
disguised though in her resignation letter, Alexander-Smith kept it classy.
Her surprise announcement immediately drew comment from
among other Rhode Island officials.
