Wood River Health Services adds two new Nurse Family Practitioners
Wood River Health Services (WRHS) announces that it has recently
hired two Nurse Family Practitioners. Rachel Holland, FNP previously worked as
a Registered Nurse in a long term and acute care facility. Kathryn (Kate)
Roccon, FNP formerly worked at the Yale New Haven Health System. Both providers
are accepting new patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.Rachel Holland FNP
“I am pleased that Rachel Holland and Kate Roccon have joined our dedicated
team of medical providers,” stated Shital Desai, a Board-Certified Family Nurse
Practitioner who has worked at WRHS since 2015. “By increasing our provider
base, we are expanding critical health
care access to individuals living in southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.”
Rachel Holland, FNP received her Master’s in Nursing Education
degree from Southern New Hampshire University and obtained her Family Nurse
Practitioners degree from University of Massachusetts, Boston. She previously
served as a travel nurse, providing acute care in hospital settings.
Holland has held positions at Westerly Hospital, Mid-Coast
Hospital in Maine, Yale New Haven and St. Raphael’s Hospital in Connecticut,
and Kent County Hospital in Warwick. She
sees patients of every age and lifestyle and is committed to providing them
with integrated, patient-centered care.
Kate Roccon, FNP earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
University of New Hampshire and her Master of Science in Nursing from
Chamberlain University. She has spent the majority of her career serving
members of Rhode Island’s coastal communities and residents of southeastern

Kate Roccon has a wealth of patient care experience in both hospital
and ambulatory care settings. She spent
six years leading a care management program assisting Yale New Haven Health
System’s most vulnerable patients. She is passionate about providing integrated
primary care to patients across their lifespans and engaging them in
collaborative partnerships.

Arrowhead Dental welcomes Dr.
Emery Nicholas
Arrowhead Dental Associates is
excited to welcome Dr. Emery Nicholas, our new oral surgeon. With both medical
and dental degrees and nearly a decade of experience, we are pleased to have
her as the newest addition to our trusted team of doctors. Dr. Emery Nicholas DMD
Dr. Nicholas is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her D.M.D., graduating in the top ten percent of her class, which led her to be inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
After finishing dental school, Dr. Nicholas continued her studies by attending medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, where she was elected Chief Resident in her final year. Following medical school, she completed her general surgery certificate at New York Presbyterian Hospital, which she has labeled her most valuable and significant time in her growth as a medical provider.
With eight years of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Nicholas is a highly-trained surgeon that can perform procedures such as dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, bone grafts, treating facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, sedation, and more. We are excited to welcome Dr. Nicholas to our office and look forward to her working alongside our team of doctors to provide the best surgical care to our patients.
