Take mom fishing for Mother's Day....for free
ATTN
anglers: this weekend, Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, are FREE Fishing
Days in Rhode Island! Rhode Islanders
and visitors alike can fish in the state's freshwaters on both days for all
species of freshwater fish, without a fishing license or trout conservation
stamp.
Free fishing days are a perfect opportunity for beginners to try out fishing
for the first time. If you already have a fishing license, consider taking a
friend or family member who has never been fishing, out on the water for the
day.
You could even take your mother out fishing on Mother’s Day! It’s a great
time to pass on the tradition while you create memories with friends and
family.
Please note: All
creel and possession limits apply. The free fishing weekend does not apply to
saltwater fishing or saltwater licenses. For a list of designated trout waters
and other information of interest to anglers, please visit www.dem.ri.gov/fishing.
