“We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support we have received from the community”
Wood River Health is pleased to announce that
the Rotary Club of Chariho has pledged a $25,000 commitment to its Capital
Campaign. The funds, which will be distributed over five years, will support
the cost of building an addition to the community health center’s 823 Main
Street facility in Hope Valley. Alison Croke, President/CEO and Jeff Duscha,
President of Rotary Club of Chariho
"This project would not be successful without the generosity of local service organizations such as the Chariho Rotary Club,” stated Alison L. Croke, President and CEO of Wood River Health. “We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support we have received from the members of the community we serve.”
"Wood River Health shares Chariho Rotary's mission to create positive and lasting change in the lives of the members of our community," stated Jeff Duscha, President of the Rotary Club of Chariho. "Our Club Members are proud to support the efforts of Wood River Health’s providers and staff, who work diligently to improve the quality of life of residents of Chariho.”
Rotary International is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in their communities, and in themselves. The purpose of local Rotary Clubs is to connect people who then work together to solve community problems, provide humanitarian aid, and promote goodwill and peace.
Chariho Rotary’s major fundraisers include a golf tournament, a strawberry shortcake booth at the Washington County Fair, and a pasta night dinner. Event proceeds support scholarships for high school students and grants to local nonprofits including Wood River Health, local libraries, the Warm Shelter, the YMCA, and the Rhode Island Center Assisting Those in Need (RICAN).
The $5 million building expansion will provide patients with a one-stop experience for all of their medical needs, while preparing Wood River Health to meet future demand for the medical, dental and behavioral health services and support programs it provides. Wood River Health broke ground and began excavations on its new building in August 2022.
Construction of Wood River Health’s new facility remains on time and on budget. It is expected to be completed in September 2023.
