Fall in love with the Pawcatuck

Leaf-Peeping via Boat! Paddle this Thursday 10/19, 1pm Join WPWA to view spectacular fall color from Frying Pan Pond and beyond. This paddle is great for beginners and wildlife viewing.      The quiet of the Upper Wood River and Frying Pan Pond is serene and peaceful. It is no wonder that the Wood-Pawcatuck watershed received prestigious, national recognition and protections as "Wild and Scenic."   Boats and gear are available for reservation. In addition to WPWA's fleet of single person kayaks, several canoes and tandem kayaks are available. Tandems (2 person kayaks) are easy to maneuver and great for an adult to share with a child under 11. To request a canoe or tandem, email Kassi@wpwa.org. The group will launch by 1:20 pm and return around 3:30 pm.   Cost is $15 for members, $20 for non-members. WPWA members at the Trout level or above have free access to kayaks. *But Dragonfly level and non-members will be charged an additional $20 per boat.   If you are a WPWA Otter, Osprey, or Eagle Member, the program is free and you will not be asked for payment when you register online.
