Magaziner Receives a Perfect Score on League of Conservation Voters 2023 Scorecard
Representative Seth Magaziner (RI-02) received a perfect score on the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) 2023 Scorecard.
The LCV’s annual National Environmental Scorecard tracks the voting records of all Members of Congress on critical environmental, climate, and democracy legislation.
“Every Rhode Islander deserves to breathe clean air and drink clean water, and these precious resources must be protected now and into the future,” said Rep. Seth Magaziner.
“I am proud to receive a perfect score from the League of Conservation Voters, and will continue fighting to combat climate change, ensure all Americans can live in a healthy environment, and accelerate the transition to an affordable, clean energy economy.”
Rep. Magaziner is a co-sponsor of H.R.5983: Clean Water Act of 2023 to restore federal protections for rivers, streams, and wetlands that existed prior to the disastrous Supreme Court case, Sackett v. EPA.
Rep. Magaziner also co-sponsored H.R.6053: Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act of 2023 to reduce plastic pollution by establishing aggressive source reduction and recycling targets for single-use plastics, banning certain wasteful single-use products, and establishing extended producer responsibility for makers of beverage containers and certain plastic products.
Additionally, Rep. Magaziner has signed on to letters urging the Environmental Protection Agency to protect public health and ensure clean air by replacing all lead service lines in our nation within 10 years, and implementing stronger air quality standards for ground-level ozone pollution, otherwise known as smog.
Rep. Magaziner is a member of the House Committee on Natural Resources and serves on the Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources and Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries.
