Charlestown's Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, September 25, starting at 7 p.m. in the Council chambers. One item on the agenda that is certain to generate a lot of discussion around town is a pre-application discussion for a possible development of 416 residential units on an approximately 80 acre property on Ross Hill Road. The materials for that discussion can be read starting on page 41 of the agenda packet. It is important to read the introductory memo by Town Planner Jane Weidman before making conclusions about this.
Charlestown's Senior Citizens Commission begins a 6-week speaker series on Tuesday, September 24. Each session will cover essential topics, providing valuable insights and practical advice to help seniors maintain their autonomy and quality of life. Learn more and see the full schedule here. The Westerly Sun also had an article which can be read here. (That article misspelled the email address for questions, which should be seniors@charlestownri.gov)
