Over the past two years, the Charlestown Residents United Town Council has provided strong, steady leadership through Deb Carney, Rippy Serra, Steve Stokes, and Peter Slom (who was appointed after Councilor Grace Klinger's passing).

Here's just a glimpse of their accomplishments:

  • They've lowered taxes, increased transparency, and carefully managed town finances.
  • They put control of the town charter back in the hands of citizens and supported local businesses.
  • Thanks to them, children now enjoy a safe playground, young athletes practice under new portable lights which are turned off when not in use, and families have more activities to enjoy in Ninigret Park, including the addition of the trolls.
  • They've stabilized town employee pensions, reduced administrative costs, and increased revenue.
  • As a result, town savings are up, and debt is down (confirmed by the Rhode Island Auditor General).
  • They've also laid the groundwork to repair the breachway.
  • They have presented a draft master plan for voters' review to improve the town's Ninigret Park.

Their vision includes balanced development, ensuring Charlestown remains a great place for young families to grow and thrive. We chose Charlestown in 1985 to live, work and rear four children and can attest Charlestown is in a better place now than it was two years ago thanks to these hard-working folks.

Please reelect Deb, Rippy, and Steve. Elect Peter and Craig Marr, Breachway Grill's owner and longtime town commission member, leader and volunteer. We know their track record and values. They deserve your support and vote.
