Join WPWA to view spectacular fall color from Frying Pan Pond and beyond. This paddle is great for beginners and wildlife viewing. The date of the paddle trip is dependent on the weather forecasted on Monday morning.
The quiet of the Upper Wood River and Frying Pan Pond is serene and peaceful. The River has many wonders which earned the Wood-Pawcatuck watershed its prestigious, national recognition and protections as "Wild and Scenic." Fall is a gorgeous time to enjoy many of nature's colors and wildlife before winter rest.
Reserve both Tuesday, Oct 22, and the rain/inclement weather date of Thursday, Oct 24th. Kassi@wpwa.org will send an email Monday morning informing participants when the event will take place. Event is 1-4pm, the group will launch at about 1:20 pm and paddle leisurely for over an hour and a half.
Cost is $30 for members, $35 for non-members. Kayaks and gear are included. If you are a WPWA Otter or Osprey Member, the program is free and you will not be asked for payment when you register online. Canoes and tandem kayaks are also available, great for an adult to share with a child under 11. Scroll down on the registration link to see this additional option.
