Monday Charlestown Town Council meeting will include long-overdue action to give residents a Homestead property tax credit

The Charlestown Town Council will have their first regular meeting of the month on Monday, April 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Council Chambers. The agenda packet can be readhere. There is also a link for watching the live stream of the meeting.
Discussion and potential action about adoption of a Tentative 2025-2026 budget and any potential warrant Items for presentation at the Budget Public Hearing that will be held on May 5, 2025.
Discussion and potential action about amending the fees for disposal of material at the Charlestown Residential Collection Center (CRCC).
Discussion and potential action to request legislation from the General Assembly to allow Charlestown to enact a Homestead Exemption (details starting on page 435 of the agenda packet).
Discussion and potential action regarding possibly moving the Charlestown Parks and Recreation Department from the Town Hall to Ninigret Park (details starting on page 458 of the agenda packet)
